Will Everett (1918-2018)[1] was Onyx Adams's maternal grandfather and a hero that went by the Amazing Man.[2]

History[]

Everett was born in 1918,[1] and became the hero Amazing Man. In his later life he raised his granddaughter Onyx Adams. He was a loving caregiver who Onyx called "Poppa Willie", but Onyx grew frustrated with his "Booker T." philosophy and left him, joining the League of Shadows[3] in 2015[4] at age 11.[2] He never saw his granddaughter again, and died[3] in 2018.[1]

Background information[]

  • Will Everett, Sr. was the superhero Amazing-Man. He was active during World War II with the All-Star Squadron as its only African American member. After the war, he became a leading civil rights campaigner. Two of his grandsons, Will "Junior" Everett III and Markus Clay, carried on the legacy. In the comics, there is no known relation between him and Onyx.
