Amber was at a Fawcett City airfield when the Team made their emergency broadcast after Klarion moved all children and adults to separate dimensions. She had no idea how to help; Billy Batson did. He asked her to fly him to Happy Harbor. She did not know how Billy was able to convince her, but she flew him to the east coast in a small prop plane.[1]
Moments after midnight, Amber disappeared from the plane, as she turned eighteen that day. With no plane in her new dimension, she fell from the sky. She was caught by Captain Marvel.[1]
In the comics, Amber Joyce was a blonde movie actress who developed "omnivision", precognitive dreams about disasters; Clark Kent had to protect her. Her first and only appearance to date was Superman Family #203. This is her first animated appearance.
She was chosen for inclusion for her name, "Amber", and its association with the Amber Alert. Elements of another character named Amber were also added.[2]
