The Appellaxians were an alien race of energy beings.
History[]
Early history[]
Seven Appellaxians (Golden Roc, Wood King, Stone God, Crystal Creature, Fire Lord, Glass Man and Mercury Monster)[1] invaded Earth using special host bodies, made of different materials and with different abilities.
The Justice League first came together to battle the alien invaders, and eventually drove them off the planet. The invaders were forced to leave their husks behind.[2] The four surviving husks, belonging to Golden Roc, Wood King, Stone God, and Crystal Creature,[1] were displayed in the trophy room of the Hall of Justice[3] until February 13, 2016, when Bruno Mannheim used Apokoliptan tech to awaken them and combine them into the Golem.[2]
Background information[]
- In the comics, the Appellaxians were the force that brought the Justice League together (though chronologically, their first foe was Starro). The Appellaxians first appeared in Justice League of America #9 (February 1962), which explained the origin of the League. This is their first animated appearance.
- The husks were designed by Jerome Moore.[4]
