Crimson Avenger was a superhero and the first "mystery man". He started his crime-fighting career in 1938[1] and had a sidekick called Wingman.[2] He was not associated with the Justice Society of America.[3]

- In the comics, Crimson Avenger, real name Lee Travis, is a Golden Age superhero, who has been associated with the All-Star Squadron and the Seven Soldiers of Victory. He was one of DC's earliest superheroes, debuting only four months after Superman, though they were preceded by other "mystery men" such as Doctor Occult.
