David Wilcox is a scientist at STAR Labs's Taos branch.
Physical appearance[]
David Wilcox is a Caucasian male with brown hair and brown eyes. While at work, he usually wore a lab coat, with a simple shirt under it. He is generally dressed shoddy; his shirt is not buttoned up properly and the bottoms of his pants are baggy and a size or two too large.[2]
History[]
|
Wilcox attended a meeting of senior Leaguers about the four kids rescued from the Reach.[2]
|
At STAR Labs, Wilcox conducted research on the abilities acquired by the former Reach captives. When Virgil grew tired of the testing, Wilcox reluctantly allowed them a twenty-minute break.
Later, Wilcox concluded the day's tests, telling the subjects to be ready to start again promptly at 6am the next morning. Unbeknownst to him, Virgil, Tye, Ed and Asami were about to break out of STAR Labs.[3]
|
Wilcox joined Burton Thompson and STAR Labs security personnel as they tracked the runaways to a bus depot. When Tye manifested an astral form to defend himself and his friends, and used it to tear off the depot roof and throw it toward them, Wilcox marvelled at the size of the construct. The armed guards took aim at Tye, and Wilcox reminded them that they were there to protect the children. Blue Beetle then arrived, but was immediately swatted to the ground by Tye, who picked up his friends and left. Beetle instructed the STAR personnel to return to the labs and let him retrieve the teens.
Back at STAR, Eduardo Dorado Sr. berated Wilcox for abandoning the search for his son and the others, but Wilcox was confident Beetle would succeed. The argument was interrupted by tremors heralding the arrival of Red Volcano. Volcano destroyed the lab's Zeta-Tube and demanded to know where the Amazo parts being stored at STAR were kept.
After Red Volcano left with Eduardo to find the vaults, Wilcox and Burton found themselves trapped in the building, which was slowly being destroyed by the ongoing battle between Volcano and Blue Beetle. Virgil and Asami came to their rescue, and Asami carried Wilcox to safety. He thanked them before they went back to the building.[3]
Abilities[]
- Multilingualism: In addition to English, David speaks Japanese with enough fluency to give instructions Asami can understand.[3]
Appearances[]
Background information[]
- David Wilcox is named after, and physically resembles, line producer David Wilcox. Even though Wilcox is a SAG member, the WB legal department would not let him voice "himself".[4]
