Djuba is a Kobra-Venom enhanced gorilla of Solovar's troop.[2]

Physical appearance[]

Djuba is a large, red-furred gorilla with several large, red scars across his torso and limbs.[nb 1]

History[]

Early life[]

Djuba lived as part of a troop of gorillas in Bwunda. In 2008, he, along with most of the troop, was captured by the Brain and Ultra-Humanite. The adult gorillas were surgically enhanced to increase their intelligence. The troop's children were held hostage, forcing the adults to serve their captors at Gorilla City. They were later given Kobra-Venom injections.[2]

Djuba, Malavar and Solovar, as well as a number of Shadow guards, answered the Brain's call for reinforcements against the Team. The gorillas sided with the Team. Solovar ordered Djuba and Malavar to attack the Shadows. After the Brain activated the base's self-destruct, Djuba evacuated with the Team and the other gorillas to the troop's safe haven.[2]

Powers and abilities[]

Appearances[]

Background information[]

  • In the comics, Djuba was not associated with Gorilla City; he was a semi-domesticated red-furred gorilla who was a friend of Mike Maxwell, the hero known as B'Wana Beast.

Notes[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 It is not made clear which of two gorillas shown is Djuba and which is Malavar. It is assumed that the red-furred gorilla is Djuba, as this is consistent with his depiction in other comics.
