The Earth-Mars Communications Satellite was a means of enabling communication between Earth and its sister planet Mars, sponsored by the Earth-Mars Communication Initiative.
History[]
The satellite was created by Ferris Aircraft for a launch date of March 19, 2016. Attitudes towards the project from Earth's populace were polarizing enough that the Justice League feared hostile action from reactionary groups. GBS's own G. Gordon Godfrey only inflamed more fervor with nonstop fearmongering during his broadcasts.[1]

The Team traveled to the launch site to ensure the project's success. The Light, however, had other plans. Aqualad and his Manta Troopers were tasked with destroying the satellite by any means. Ultimately, the craft exploded shortly after launch, though not because of Aqualad, but his father, who had smuggled explosives onto the vessel weeks prior.[1]
