Superboy met Lex Luthor at the park, as Luthor had requested. Luthor told Superboy that Cadmus had created another Kryptonian clone.
They met again later that day, after Superboy had discovered the clone, that the clone was actually older than him, and that Luthor had been using him to find missing Genomorphs. Luthor made the case for Conner to join him, but was rejected. Superboy became angry, but Luthor used a codeword to freeze him for hours.[1]
