The Goode VR Goggles was a portable virtual reality experience marketed by Goode World Studios. It offered a wide variety of shows and movies, as well as virtual reality games with an interactive environment.
However, in actuality this device was a secret Meta-Gene tester that subliminally directed those who tested positive to a meta-human trafficking center, where they would become meta-active, enslaved and trafficked on the black market.[1]
History[]
The Goode Goggles were developed by the Research and Development department of Goode World Studios.[1] According to the company founder Gretchen Goode, the Goggles were an extension of the company's initial purpose of sparking the imagination.
The device was released sometime in 2018 and by late September it was already a popular Christmas shopping list item.[2] The high-demand of the product made it very valuable in the black market. Because of that, Brick tried to steal a shipment of Goggles, but was foiled by Will Harper, Dick Grayson, Roy, and Jim Harper.[3]

The realism provided by the Goggles seemed to be uncanny, seeing as so many people were shown to lose track of their surroundings while using them. Henry Fyff was so immersed in playing "Gem Chaser" on a park that he tripped over and fell down right in front of Artemis and Violet. Likewise, Leroy was walking outside wearing a pair of Goggles, all the while vociferating about the realistic recreation of the bridge of the starship Engager.[3] Even Barbara admitted that "Funny Monkeys" was fun, despite knowing it was silly.[4]

On October 15, Garfield Logan tried out his girlfriend's Goggles and fell into a psychic fugue state. He managed to pull himself out of it and the experience helped him realize the truth: the Goggles and his boss Gretchen Goode were part of the meta-human trafficking chain.[5] After this became public, Gretchen blamed the director of the R&D department, Jaqqar Marlo, and recalled all "faulty" devices from the market, after promising to replace them with new ones.[6]
