Background information

• Hercules or Herakles - the two are used interchangeably - has been adapted into two more different characters in DC Comics aside from being Captain Marvel's benefactor. He is a villain in Wonder Woman stories, responsible for the enslavement of Amazons, and has undergone several failed redemption arcs. In the Silver Age, he was a rival to Superman for the affection of Lois Lane.
• This is his fourth animated appearance. He appeared in the 1970s Shazam! series (on which his appearance in Young Justice is based), the animated movie All-Star Superman and the Shazam! shorts for DC Nation.
