Mal Duncan stopped by Karen Beecher, hoping to take her on a date. She had to finish work with Dr. Palmer first, but the experiments took longer than anticipated and he returned home.[3]

Doctors Palmer and Cross, with help from Bumblebee and Impulse, tried to separate Jaime Reyes' scarab by going into his body. It ultimately failed because the scarab's defenses proved too tough.[4]
