On the Kent Farm, Jonny played with Wolf alongside his mother while his father and grandfather worked on the tractor, until Martha Kent called everyone inside for dinner. Jonny asked if Conner would be joining them, saddening everyone. Jonny and Clark comforted a depressed Wolf while Lois began to remind him about Conner's passing. However, Jonny misunderstood their meaning, believing Conner could not visit their house, but firmly believed he would come to the farm due to previous visits. Clark revealed to Jonny the truth that Conner had died and explained the meaning of life and death, but assured Jonny that although Conner was gone, he would always be kept alive in his head and heart. As a reminder, Lois showed Jonny a photograph of the happy times they shared with Conner and Martha assured that once their lives eventually ended, they would see Conner again someday. Jonny appeared to understand what his parents and grandmother explained to him.

Appearances[]

Background information[]

  • Throughout continuities, Lois Lane has had several children with Superman, some of whom were named Jonathan after his adoptive father. The first Jonathan appeared in the story "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?" from 1986. Since 2011, two new Jonathan Kents have appeared, both going by the name Superboy: Jonathan Lane Kent was the future son of Superman and Lois Lane who dedicated his life to destroying all meta-humans before his redemption and death, and Jonathan Samuel Kent was the son of the "New Earth" Lois and Clark trapped in a bubble by Brainiac and Telos, that have since been merged with their "New 52" counterparts by Mister Mxyzptlk.
  • This is his first animated appearance.
  • Jonny was designed for season four by Jerome Moore. For his outfit, Moore chose primary colors to reflect Superman's costume and a hood to give the suggestion of a cape.[8]
