In 2018, she decided to resign, along with several others, out of frustration with the U.N. sanctions put on the organization by Secretary-General Lex Luthor. She now operates on a new, covert team commanded by her colleague, Batman. The team has since disbanded and she rejoined Justice League.

Early history

Katana joined the Justice League at some point after July 4, 2016.[2]

She attended an emergency League meeting in which Batman proposed to dissolve the team, as a result of the restrictions placed by the United Nations on their actions. After he tendered his resignation, Katana was among the ones who promptly followed suit, presumably having planned it in advance.[2]

  • Tatsu Yamashiro, née Toro, is a Japanese swordswoman who wields the mighty Soultaker Sword. As the name implies, it houses the souls of those it killed, including her husband Maseo.
  • This is her fifth animated appearance. She previously appeared in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Beware the Batman and DC Super Hero Girls.
