Lightning Lad[1] was a Legionnaire.
History[]
Lightning Lad joined the Legion of Super-Heroes and fought against Dru-Zod's attempt to overthrow the United Planets. He was present when Zod and his followers were sent back to the Phantom Zone. Lor-Zod was not sent back, and was determined to free his parents. Lor-Zod's constant attempts to take the Phantom Zone Projector forced Lightning Lad to destroy it. Lor-Zod then went back in time to kill Superboy, the Legion's inspiration. After Lor-Zod went back in time, the timeline changed such that the Legion never formed.[2]

Background information[]
- Garth Ranzz of Winath is a founding member of the Legion. His twin sister Ayla is also a member as Light Lass.
- This is his third animated appearance. He appeared in the DC Animated Universe (in Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited) and the animated series Legion of Super-Heroes.
