The Ma'arphinn Beast is an aquatic animal on Mars, known to live in the Sacred River. It is similar to an Earth dolphin in appearance and temperament. It is able to jump high out of the water and can spit out water with accuracy.[1]
Physical appearance[]
Ma'arphinn Beasts have long bodies, with a pair of large fins on their sides, plus a dorsal fin. Their skin is mostly dark red, with pink bellies and fin membranes. They have bulges of blue veiny tissue on either side of their dorsal fin. They have a long, pointed snout, with a row of fine, filtering teeth on their upper jaw. Their eyes are blue.[1]

While on the Sacred Boat for Miss Martian and Superboy's Ma'ayava'ana ceremony, a Ma'arphinn Beast spat water at Beast Boy. Beast Boy quickly learned to take the form of a Ma'arphinn Beast and joined them to play in the water.[1]
