  • Hi Finister2, I think it's great that you're updating the character squads with the AskGreg ramble.  However, before you do too many, I would like to ask that you check your link first.

    You are actually linking to

    http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?qid=1032

Which is not what you wanted.  You want

    http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?rid=1032

Note that there's a difference between a Question and a Ramble.

I am using the following template to update:

{{CIT|{{SUBST:PAGENAME}} was assigned to Squad, and worked alongside .}}<ref name=rid1032>[[Greg Weisman|Weisman, Greg]] (2013-3-18). [http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?rid=1032 Ramble #1032]. ''Ask Greg''. Retrieved 2013-3-19.</ref>

    • Ah, I see my mistake. I used QID instead of RID.

    • Not only that.  You didn't write the question # after the URL.  Read  the reference page of one of the edits, and you can see it simply refers to "Question #", without a number.

Don't take this the wrong way though.   I'm not trying to discourage you or anything.  I just want to make sure this is done correctly, because all forty heroes will ultimately be updated with that. Ounce of prevention, and all that jazz...  Easier for you to do it right than for us or you to manually change it afterwards :)

    • Where do I find the Question numbers on the Ask Greg page?

        Loading editor
    • In the url. If it's the most recent, simply go to next question and then back again.

  • Hi, Finisterboy. The image you uploaded to our database does not specify its source or licensing.

    • Source: You need to indicate where the image was taken from by using a {{filebox}}. In case of screenshots, and if you didn't grab them yourself, you need to acknowledge the site/person who did it. Also, please add a description of the screencap;
    • Licensing: If you have not created this media yourself, then you need to indicate why it can be used here. For this, you need to include the proper image copyright designation on the license field of the {{filebox}}. If you believe the media falls under the fair use doctrine, then consider reading up on it, and then use the proper fair use license (screenshot).

If you uploaded other media, consider checking whether you specified their source and licensing, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded here.

To comply with this request, go to the file's edit page, remove the notice and click on Image_Button.png. Then, fill out the appropriate fields as exemplified here. Finally, save the change.

Note that it's your responsibility to properly credit the media you upload, and any unsourced and unlicensed image can be deleted if not correctly specified.

    Thank you.

  • There's a button on top, with AG. Press it, and the full note appears. You only need to add the qid number, and the date.

Don't add CIT information without a note.

  • I see that subtlety doesn't work on you. To be clear, this blog was mostly about you. I'll kindly ask you to refrain from posting our unanswered questions on AskGreg.[1][2][3][4][5]. He even answered to some of those already. I really hope all of those get deleted as per their new rules. You may think you are helping us, but you're not.

  • Canary's power (apart from martial arts skills) is her voice. So obviously, a gag is a weakness. However, it's not a specific weakness like fire or Kryptonite, or a character trait like insecurity or inexperience.

It's like saying dismemberment is a weakness for Red Tornado, because if you rip his arms and legs off, he can't use his powers. Or break the bow of Red Arrow/Green Arrow/Artemis. Being gagged is just as much a weakness as "being locked in a force bubble with sleeping gas", "being hit in the face with a mace" or "being brainwashed with Starro-tech", and probably even less.

    • For the last time: stop adding categories to seemingly obvious pages!! Kent Nelson was never a member of the JSA; Doctor Fate was. Kent Nelson is Kent Nelson; Doctor Fate is Doctor Fate.
