The group followed him to Minosyss Ring where they ran into Superman fighting against many Parademons. After the Parademons flee, Superman remarks that they will get them next time, but Metron informs the group that the Parademons already got everything Desaad and Granny Goodness require for their device.
Metron returned with them to Earth with the intention of studying the Fatherbox's effect on victor but not to cure him. Black Lightning realized they only need his chair to cure Victor. Superboy flung Metron from his chair, and the latter retaliated with energy beams, but Black Lightning blasted him from behind and pinned him down long enough for Superboy to command the chair to save Victor via the Motherbox.
Afterwards, Metron dispassionately stated that Victor is now fused with Mobius chair and the chance to study him was wasted. When Black Lightning asked whether Granny Goodness and Gretchen Goode are the same, Metron cryptically replied "No, and yes."[2]
Metron, despite being from New Genesis, is neutral in the conflict of the New Gods, only concerning himself with the pursuit of knowledge.
This is his second animated appearance. He first appeared in the DC Animated Universe; in a cameo in Superman: The Animated Series and in full in the finale of Justice League Unlimited.
