The plant creatures were a weapon used by the Injustice League on behalf of the Light. They consisted of massive, super strong and highly mobile vines that could deploy Joker venom spores. Simultaneous attacks on multiple cities across the world were controlled from a single site in Bayou Bartholomew, where a central control plant was located. The Light considered the attack a successful test of the weapon.[1]
Design & capabilities[]
The base plants appear to be vines controlled by Poison Ivy, augmented with a Kobra-Venom variant.
The attacking plants consist of clusters of massive green vines studded with red thorns. The vines can errupt from under the ground, easily strong enough to break through even thick concrete. Some vines end in large red flowers which act like hands, allowing them to easily pick up objects. The vines can also bloom with smaller flowers that explode into clouds of deadly Joker venom spores. The vines are highly mobile and prehensile, allowing them to wrap around objects large and small, and are strong enough to crush a nuclear power plant's cooling tower or pick up and throw a school bus.
The vines were all controlled from a central control plant which acts as an antenna, able to reach across the globe. The control plant was augmented with integrated technology (monitored by Ultra-Humanite) and magic (courtesy of Wotan), and powered by energy from Atomic Skull. Joker actually controlled the plants for the Injustice League, using a set of gloves linked to the control plant.
Though the plants were strong, they were not indestructible, and could be severed readily by Flash and Aquaman, as well as by Hawkman and Hawkwoman's weapons. They were also vulnerable to fire, explosives, and herbicides.[1]
History[]
2010[]
|
A plant creature emerged and briefly attacked Metropolis as a test.
Around ten hours later, the Injustice League launched prolonged, large scale attacks in mulitple cities across the world, including Metropolis, Gotham City, Star City, Paris and Taipei. The Justice League and other heroes responded to the crises, but were unable to do much more than hold their ground.[1]

The Team sought out the control center, located by Zatara by tracing Wotan's magic. They managed to destroy the central plant with explosives, which disabled the plants in other cities. The Justice League soon arrived to help the Team take the Injustice League into custody.
The Light had been monitoring the attacks, which the Injustice League had performed under their orders. Vandal Savage considered the operation a success, both as a test of the plant creatures' effectiveness, and as a ruse to have the Injustice League "exposed" as the shadowy criminal organization in the Light's place.[1]
