Poseidon is the Greek god of the seas, also known by his Roman name Neptune. He is still revered by Atlanteans.

History[]

Poseidon was an important figure in Atlantean culture. The capital city-state of Poseidonis was named in his honor,[1] as is another city-state Neptunos.[2] A statue of him was erected in the Chamber of Seven Seas.[3] [4]

Some Atlanteans such as Nanaue Sha'ark[5] and La'gaan invoked his name when angered or excited, translated as "Neptune's beard!" in English.[6]

Ocean-Master used a powerful magic weapon called Neptune's Trident.[5] Whether the trident is connected to Poseidon or just named for him is unknown.

Background information[]

  • The final design of the statue of Poseidon in the Chamber of Seven Seas was made by Jerome Moore after he was asked to revise an original concept as it was too similar to a real-life statue.[4]
