Professor Ojo is a member of the League of Shadows.

Physical appearance[]

Ojo is a Caucasian man with black hair and a short black mustache. He wears a mostly blue helmet, which is black around the part covering the forehead. There is also a red circle in the middle of the black part.

History[]

2010[]

Infinity Island
August 7, 23:49 ECT

Ojo oversaw the imprisonment of Serling Roquette, and operated her—and thus the League's—new weapon, the Fog. Though Roquette was liberated, Professor Ojo managed to secure the Fog.[2]

Philadelphia
August 8, 21:57 EDT

After a test run on Miami Beach University, Ojo released the Fog on STAR Labs and a Wayne Tech facility. He was successful with STAR, but Robin deactivated the nanobots before they could take Wayne Tech's data. Superboy attacked Ojo, and managed to crush the eye on his helmet. Before being captured, Ojo transmitted the stolen data from STAR Labs to the League of Shadows, and therefore also the Light.

Belle Reve Parish
September 16, 21:55 CDT

After his capture, he was sent to Belle Reve Penitentiary where he fell in with Brick's crew. When Icicle Jr. arrived at Belle Reve, Ojo attacked him (apparently for revenge for a previous encounter) but was thrown off by "Tommy Terror". Ojo almost recognized the boy as Superboy, but Miss Martian stopped him from revealing Superboy's identity with her telepathy.

During the breakout orchestrated by Icicle Sr., Ojo was set to guard the control room for the inhibitor collars, along with Hook and Abra Kadabra. They were defeated by Superboy and Icicle, Jr.[3]

Belle Reve Penitentiary
December 30, post-09:48 CST

After an ambush on the Team involving Belle Reve in-mates made it clear the prison was under the Light's control, Vandal Savage called Hugo Strange to alert him, instructing him to open all the doors.[4]

Abilities and equipment[]

Using a highly advanced helmet that covers his upper face, he can shoot blasts of energy from an opening on the helmet from the location of his eyes.[2] While incarcerated at Belle Reve, a yellow "boot" was placed over the helmet, allowing him to see but preventing him from using the helmet as a weapon.[3]

Appearances[]

Background information[]

  • Professor Ojo was originally an adversary of Richard Dragon (and later Green Lantern), though he had only a handful of appearances. The son of a scientist, he was born with no eyes because of his father's experiments. He could only see with a special helmet he built. Ojo was unused for decades; it was not until after his appearance on Young Justice that he was used again (in his Young Justice look) by Morrison and Burnham in Batman Incorporated.
  • This is his first animated appearance.
