A rebreather is a device that enables breathing underwater[1] or in low oxygen atmospheres.[2]
The Team has access to small rebreathers in the form of a black cylinder with mouthpiece that easily fits in a pocket without large tanks or backpacks.[1] There is also a larger version with a clear mask covering the lower face, which lasts longer and allows the wearer to speak while using it.[3] The Justice League uses a third model for missions in space. It has a clear mask with metal casing around the jaw, leading to a band that goes over the ears and back of the head.[4][2] An oxygen tank can be attached if needed.[5]
Several heroes are known to keep a rebreather or two in their utility belts,[1][6] and the Bio-Ship is typically stocked with a supply of them.[7]

Background information[]
- Rebreathers exist in the real world, and work by removing carbon dioxide from exhaled air to allow it to be recycled, extending the lifetime of an air supply. However, none are as small and lightweight as those in Young Justice, with realworld rebreathers still relying on carrying an oxygen tank.
