Samad Daou is Gabrielle Daou's cousin.

Physical appearance[]
Samad is an olive-skinned man with brown eyes and black hair. He has a mole on his left cheek, and he has a beard. He keeps his short hair mostly hidden under a white hat.
History[]
Early life[]
His brother and uncle died when Qurac was annexed by Bialya, and his cousin Gabrielle left the country for Markovia. He lived with his aunt, Madia Daou.[2]

Samad was shocked to find his cousin on his doorstep. "Gabrielle" told Madia and Samad that she was dying. Madia and Samad had many questions and wanted to help, but "Gabrielle" had only wanted to give them closure. As they noticed how Gabrielle was not behaving like herself, "Grabrielle" admitted they were in fact Halo, the result of a Motherbox's soul fusing with Gabrielle Daou's body. Samad reacted with anger, calling them a demon, but Madia was grateful to finally know what had happened to her daughter, and wished Violet well with their new family.[2]
Violet got Secretary-General Troia to help get US visas for Madia and Samad, and they moved to Happy Harbor. Samad got a job on a fishing boat, despite never having fished a day in his life before, and loved it.[5]
