Major Shirley Mason (d. August 13, 2010) was a doctor in the United States Air Force.

Early history[]
Mason served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, and was involved in a weapons smuggling ring run by General Wade Eiling.
In 1968, Shirley Mason testified at the trial of Capt. Nathaniel Adams. She falsely testified that he was not under the influence of any drug during the time of the murder of General Lemar, which sealed the captain's fate.[2]

42 years later she was murdered by Rako as part of a cover-up operation when the Team began investigating the Adams case.[2]

Background information[]
- Though the events of "Cold Case" and "Hot Case" are adaptations of Captain Atom Vol 2 #9 and #26-28, Shirley Mason was created for Young Justice's version. Neither she nor any other medical examiner appears in Captain Atom.
