The Collector's Ship

The Collector' Ship hovers in the sky.

The Collector's Ship is the headquarters and interstellar transport of the Collector of Worlds for his mission to preserve shrunken cities from doomed worlds.

Layout and equipment[]

The ship has a roughly circular, disc-shaped main body, with three smaller discs trailing behind, seemingly separate from the main body. The ship is equipped with small forcefield emitter units that are deployed to drill beneath the target city and establish a forcefield sphere around it.[1] At the center of the main ship's ventral side is a large green emitter from which the reduction beam is fired.[2] This interacts with the forcefield, causing it and its contents to shrink, ready for collection.[3] The beam can also be used to re-enlarge a city if the collection is aborted.[4]

The interior of the vessel includes a command center with a chair surrounded by various holographic interfaces and displays.[5] A huge chamber contains dozens, if not hundreds of shrunken cities.[3] Flash and Atom had the impression that the ship was larger inside than it appeared from outside.[6] The ship is manned by a number of Coludroid units, all serving the Collector of Worlds intelligence.[4]

History[]

2015[]

Geosynchronous Orbit
December 1, 10:28 EST

Aboard his ship, the Collector of Worlds received the go-ahead to start his mission after Kylstar completed his own tasks.[5]

Metropolis
December 1, 10:35 EST

The ship moved into position above Metropolis and deployed a unit to drill down beneath the ground and establish a forcefield around the city.[1]

Metropolis
December 1, 16:22 EST

The ship emitted an energy beam toward the forcefield[2] causing the forcefield and everything within to begin to shrink, though slowly enough that no-one immediately noticed.[3]

Metropolis

Martian Manhunter approached the ship and attempted communication, while a camouflaged squad of the Team prepared to infiltrate.[2]

Metropolis

Having received no response, Manhunter, Flash and Atom boarded the ship, but were quickly removed by the Collector. The Collector did not immediately detect the Team's infiltration, however.[6]

Metropolis
December 1, 18:20 EST

The Team explored the ship, and found a huge room containing dozens of shrunken cities, leading them to realize what the Collector was doing to Metropolis. Before they could do more, Zatanna's glamour that kept them undetected went down, and they were confronted by the Collector.[3]

The Team receives much needed back-up when Kylstar teleports his former captives to them. They destroy the Collector's body, but more Coludroids appear. However, the combination of the existance of a surviving Kryptonian, plus the threat of the destruction caused if the members of the Team in Metropolis shut down the forcefield while the reduction beam is still active, cause the Collector to agree to abort his operation. He then returns the city to its original size.[4]

Metropolis
December 1, 22:03 EST

The ship heads away into space.[4]
