Zehra Fazal is an American actress who has done voiceover on cartoons, video games, audiobooks and live-action. Aside from voicing Halo on Young Justice: Outsiders, she most notably voiced Rizavi in seasons 7 and 8 of Voltron: Legendary Defender, Mara on She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and Zahra on Glitch Techs.

Zehra is an old acquaintance of Greg Weisman, who modeled the character Shari from the Gargoyles comics after her.[3] Zehra even got to play Shari in his first crossover RadioPlay, "Religious Studies 101: A Handful of Thorns" in 2009.

Weisman stated that he wrote Halo with Zehra in mind.[4]

Biography[]

Daughter to Pakistani immigrants, Zehra was born outside of Chicago and grew up in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Zehra is also a stage actress, having written a one-woman musical-comedy show called "Headscarf and the Angry Bitch", which she toured around the world, as a means of dispelling stereotypes and post-9/11 fear and wariness of Muslims with humor.

She is also fluent in Japanese, which she studied at Wellesley College and Stanford's Kyoto Japan Center. She also worked in Japanese theater, and eventually translated and staged one musical at the Takarazuka Revue, an all-female musical theater, as her senior honors thesis. She also did a traditional Japanese comedy training and performance program in Kyoto.

Zehra also speaks French, Hindi, and Urdu.[5]
